Never done one before?

Good. That's who this is for. Weights can be altered to suit differing abilities — you don't need to be an experienced HYROX athlete. The format is explained in full before race day, and you're doing it with a partner. Bring a mate, bring your other half, bring your kid.

Saturday 6th March 2027, from 8am.

Strabane Academy, Derry Road, Strabane, Co. Tyrone, BT82 8LD.

The Strabane Academy Community HYROX SIM runs both indoors and outdoors within the school — the sports and fitness facilities, and the outdoor 3G pitch for the running. That means it runs regardless of weather conditions. Gallery on the floor, music up, results to the screens.

STRABANE ACADEMY x RYAN'S GYM

Strabane Academy is putting this on in association with Ryan's Gym. It's an event built for Strabane first — individuals, families, local gyms and fitness groups, all on the same floor on the same day.

THE FORMAT

Doubles: two-person teams working together through a combination of running and functional fitness stations — sled work, rowing, wall balls and other functional fitness challenges. The exact distances, exercises and format will be provided to participants ahead of the event.

Parent & Child Rox / Child Rox doubles and KidRox singles: scaled to 500m runs, with weights to match.
